Figure skater and skating coach Nicolette House has written a children's novel called Maddie Takes the Ice, in which a skater prepares for a regional competition. Nicolette, a recent DePaul University graduate, will share information on how she trains, her diet, her experiences, and her career ups and downs, offering a look at the life of a competitive figure skater.
The event, recommended for grades K thru 8, will be held at the Skokie Ice Arena at 9300 Weber Park Place on Saturday, January 12 at 12:30pm. No registration is required.
