Step-by-Step Access to North Suburban Digital Consortium
eAudiobooks
- Open the North Suburban Digital Consortium site [skokie.lib.overdrive.com].
- Browse the eBook and eAudiobook collections and select your titles.
- After adding selections to your BookBag you may Proceed to Checkout. You must specify your home library and type in your full library card number. This effectively creates your Digital Account. Every time you access the North Suburban Digital Consortium site and log in, you will have access to your Digital Account and the books you have checked out.
- Before downloading eAudiobooks to your computer you must have installed two free software files: Windows Media Player 9 (or above) and Overdrive Media Console. Both of these are available for downloading onto your computer free from the North Suburban Digital Consortium site.
- Once you have checked out your books you may download them to your computer. You will initially download the titles to the Overdrive Media Console and will then use the Windows Media Player to play the eAudiobook or to transfer it to a portable device (for example, an MP3 player).
- The eAudiobook will be yours to use for three weeks; after that it will become unusable and be automatically returned to the library collection. This unusable file will have to be deleted from your computer manually.
