We've created a Library website specially formatted for small screens but with much of the same functionality as our regular site. The mobile version of our website features:

• Library hours and directions
• Contact information
• Loan policies
• Upcoming events
• New item listings

Mobile Library Catalog

We have a version of the Library catalog optimized for mobile devices. You can use the mobile interface to:

• Browse the collection
• Reserve titles
• Check your account
• Renew items

Text Messaging Alerts

Stay up-to-date on all your Library account activity! Sign up for this free service and receive updates on item holds ready to be checked out, overdue notices, and courtesy notices for items that will be due in two days. You can even renew items with a quick text.

You can sign up using one of these three methods :

• Fill out our web signup form.
• Text the message SIGNUP+Card Number to skokie@shoutbomb.com. (Replace "Card Number" wtih your 14-digit Library card number; do not include spaces.)
• Scan the QR code at right with your camera phone.  (To download a free QR reader, visit the i-nigma website on your Web-enabled phone.)

 

Mobile Commands

Text these commands to skokie@shoutbomb.com for updates on your Library account, or to turn certain features on or off. You should receive a response within 60 seconds.

SIGNUP+Card Number	Registers for text messaging service. Replace "Card Number" with your 14-digit Library card number; do not include spaces.
TEST	Tests your connection.
HL	Request a list of items currently on hold.
OL	Request a list of current overdue items.
ADDCARD+Card Number	Adds notifications for an additional library card to your phone. Replace "Card Number" with the corresponding 14-digit Library card number; do not include spaces.
DROPCARD+Card Number	Removes a previously added library card to your phone. Replace "Card Number" with the corresponding 14-digit Library card number; do not include spaces.
ADDEMAIL+Card Number	Adds an email address for backup verification. Replace "Card Number" with your 14-digit Library card number; do not include spaces.
COURTESY	Toggles 2-day due date warnings on or off. Default setting is on.
OVERDUE	Toggles overdue warnings on or off. Default setting is on.
HOLDS	Toggles hold notices on or off. Default setting is on.
RESEND	Sends last message.
QUIT+Card Number	Cancels text messaging service. Replace "Card Number" with the corresponding 14-digit Library card number; do not include spaces.

Please note: Text message notifications are provided by Shoutbomb, LLC. While this is a free service offered by the Library, you may incur per-message charges depending on your wireless plan. Please contact your wireless provider for more details.
