Illinois Documents Collection
at Skokie Public Library

Skokie Public Library is one of twenty-four libraries in the state designated as an Illinois Documents Depository Library. The
purpose of this statewide network is to insure free and open access to Illinois Government by all of its citizens. The Illinois State Library acquires the publications issued by Illinois state government agencies and, when sufficient copies are available, distributes them to depositories such as Skokie to make them available on the local level.

Illinois government agencies also publish the electronic versions of many of their print publications on the Web as well as an increasing number of items that are issued only in an electronic format. The State of Illinois website offers a gateway to statewide agencies, boards and commissions and to many of their publications, programs and services. Finding Illinois Documents at Skokie Public Library and on the Web has additional suggestions for locating Illinois government information.
