BOOKING WITH A BUDDY will be back for another exciting summer at Skokie Public Library!
Children who will enter grades 1 through 3 in the fall can participate in this fun literacy program designed to promote reading outside of the school year. "Little Buddy" participants spend one hour each week reading with "Big Buddy" volunteers ranging from junior high school students to retirees. BOOKING WITH A BUDDY will run from Monday, June 28 through Thursday, July 29. Pre-registration is going on now.

time slots are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays in the Youth Services Department. Little Buddies are matched by Youth Services staff and time slots
are assigned based on the availability of Big Buddy
volunteers.

Big Buddy Volunteers
(entering grade 6 through adult)
Big Buddy volunteers spend one or more hours a week reading with children in
our BOOKING WITH A BUDDY program. If you are interested in volunteering as a Big Buddy to read with Little Buddies entering grades 1 through 3, download a Volunteer Application Packet, fill it out, and mail it with a completed Letter of Recommendation (included in the application packet) to: Big Buddy volunteer positions have been filled.
