- Seniors: Join us on Tuesday, July 22 from 1:30 to 3:30pm for some exciting Wii Sports at the Library. We'll have a Nintendo Wii video game system set up with games like bowling, boxing, tennis, and golf!
- Our next Teen movie night on Friday, July 25 will feature the film Be Kind Rewind.

- The American Film Institute (AFI) recently announced their 10 Top 10: America's 10 Greatest Films in 10 Classic Genres. All of the titles are available for checkout at Skokie Public Library!
- If you are enjoying warm, sunny summer weather you may like one of the movies on our recently updated list of Warm Weather Films.
- Join us on Wednesday, July 9 on the Village Green (located on the east side of the Library) from 7:00 to 8:00pm to see BMX World Champion Matt Wilhelm perform amazing bike stunts.
- Ravinia comes to your Library on Wednesday, July 16 from 7:00 to 8:15pm for a presentation on Gustav Mahler's Eighth Symphony, which is the piece selected as Ravinia's "One Score, One Chicago" work for this season. A few lucky attendees will win free lawn passes to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performance of this symphony at Ravinia on July 26! Sign up online or call 847.673.3733 to register.
- Teens: Looking for something good to read? Need a cool place to do homework with your friends? Check out the Teen Corner at Skokie Public Library! Visit us or check out this video tour of the Teen Corner.
- There's still plenty of time to Get in the Game with our kids, teen, or adult summer reading clubs. The programs run through July 31. And new this year is a Summer Viewing and Listening Club for adults and teens.

- The Alex Awards are given each year to ten books written for adults that have special appeal to teens. The Library has some of these award winning fiction and nonfiction books in the Teen Corner.

- There are currently several Job Openings at Skokie Public Library. Applications for both paid and volunteer positions are available Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm in the Administration Office on the third floor of the Library.
- Did you like Iron Man? Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? If so, you may like one of the other titles on our new view-a-like lists for these movies. We've also created View-a-Like lists for many other recent popular films.
- Our brand new Summer Listening and Viewing Club began this week! The theme for all of our summer clubs this year is Get in The Game and to get you started we've created lists of Movies About Games and Puzzlers, and we've updated our list of Sports Movies.
