Summer 2008
Celebrate summer @ your library with four special outdoor performances! We'll meet under clear skies at the Skokie Village Green on the east side of the Library. In the event or threat of rain, programs will be moved to the Petty Auditorium. Registration is not required.

Rockin' the Library with The High Strung

7:00 to 8:30pm - The High Strung will rock the Village Green when the band comes through Skokie on their annual Rock & Roll Library Tour. The band has appeared on MTV and in Entertainment Weekly and Spin magazine. In August of 2006 The High Strung was featured on National Public Radio's "This American Life" in a segment promoting the Library Tour.

7:00 to 8:00pm - BMX World Champion Matt Wilhelm will perform amazing bike stunts. Matt has won X-Game Medals in the United States, Brazil, and Korea. This is a fun event for ages 3 and older.

7:00 to 8:30pm- Local Chicago DJ Scott McKay and Skokie's own Josh Solomon and his band The Empty Pockets will be rockin' the Village Green and the Library with classic rock 'n' roll tunes.
