Performances at the Library
Skokie Public Library offers a wide variety of music, dance, and cultural events year-round in the Petty Auditorium. Admission to all performances is free. If needed, tickets are given out thirty minutes prior to the performance. Seating for all events is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the doors to the auditorium open fifteen minutes before the performance begins.

The Chicago Klezmer Ensemble presents a program of traditional, rare, and original works. The ensemble is led by Kurt Bjorling, clarinet and tsimbl.

Young Steinway Concert Series
This celebrated classical music series showcases young people with extraordinary talent and gives local audiences the chance to enjoy first-class music close to home. Library Production Studio Cable Channel
Library Production Studio transmits library programming on cable channel 24 in Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, Prospect Heights, Skokie, and Wheeling. Selected performances at Skokie Public Library and other area libraries are broadcast on this channel. A monthly broadcast schedule is available online using the link above. The schedule is also available at the Library.

Lyric Opera of Chicago
The Lyric Opera’s website lists upcoming performances, dates for radio broadcasts of performances, and a history of the opera company and the Opera House. Tickets to performances may be purchased online. Skokie Public Library owns all of Lyric's available commentaries and recordings. Search for these items in the library catalog by title or by keyword search for "Lyric and Opera". Look for a display of Lyric Opera materials in the Library from September through April.
North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie
This venue offers a full range of events throughout the year including concerts, plays, comedy acts, and family programs. Three resident companies operate out of NSCPAS: Centre East, Northlight Theatre, and the Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra. Each company offers unique programs that appeal to different audiences.
