The Pulitzer Prize for Fiction
Established in 1917 and endowed by Joseph Pulitzer, the noted Hungarian immigrant newspaper publisher, the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction recognizes distinguished fiction published in book form by an American author, preferably dealing with American life.
