PowerSearch
Skokie Public Library's Streamlined Search Option

PowerSearch is a special library search engine which searches for books, articles from magazines and newspapers, and specially selected websites all at once with a single, easy to use interface.

Simply enter your search terms, select one or more databases or subjects, and within seconds you'll have results on your desktop.  Results are displayed in chronological order, with the newest items listed first.  You can re-sort them by Title, Author, or Database (source).

Hints

If you're finding magazine articles, but want more general information on your topic, pick the Encyclopedias, almanacs, and other reference books search category.

Not all Library subscription databases are included in PowerSearch.  For a complete list see the Databases A to Z page.
