Teacher helping students onto a school bus

We work closely with educators in schools that serve Skokie students to make library services and programs accessible and easy to use. We can supplement your classroom instruction or find ways to engage students in the library.

Feel free to email us if you have any questions.

Eligible educators in Skokie schools can get a library card to check out materials for school educational purposes.

Using this card acknowledges understanding of the rights and responsibilities of educator library cardholders.

Students in public schools who live in Skokie can sign up for a library card through their school.

Educator resource bags contain up to 30 fiction, nonfiction, and audiovisual items selected by you or based on a specific topic or topics. The bag is checked out for you to pick up at the library or a regular bookmobile stop. It may take up to a week for your resource bag to be prepared. If you need it more quickly, please indicate that on the request form and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Request a resource bag.
