Created in 2025, this piece consists of a rectangular canvas made from layered jacquard woven cloth with hand and machine stitching, couching, roving yarn, embroidery, and reflective foil depicting foliage and flowers in a range of naturalistic colors punctuated by machine-stitched outlines in vibrant green, yellow, and orange. Long threads hang from the flowers’ centers (anthers) and additional leaves and petals are attached to the canvas, providing additional dimension and texture. The pattern woven into the jacquard textile was generated from the artist’s drawings. Let Me Stay Here (Déjame Quedarme Aquí) is a pendant (companion piece) with another work by Melissa Leandro, See Me (Verme), which hangs directly to the right (south) of Let Me Stay Here (Déjame Quedarme Aquí) on the same wall.
Located on the east brick wall just to the left of the East Entrance of the library, on the First Floor.
