Created in 2025, this piece consists of a rectangular canvas made from layered jacquard woven cloth with hand and machine stitching, embroidery, and reflective foil depicting flowers (primarily in the Aster family) and foliage in a range of naturalistic colors. Long threads trail downward from the flowers’ centers (anthers) and additional leaves and petals are attached to the canvas, providing additional dimension and texture, occasionally exceeding the bounding frame of the canvas. The pattern woven into the jacquard textile was generated from the artist’s drawings. See Me (Verme) is a pendant (companion piece) with another work by Melissa Leandro, Let Me Stay Here (Déjame Quedarme Aquí), which hangs directly to the left (north) of See Me (Verme) on the same wall.
