This presentation by Everyone Reading Illinois provides a basic understanding of dyslexia, including information on such topics as the underlying deficit areas for students with dyslexia and how they appear in the classroom, early literacy screening, effective interventions, appropriate accommodations, and helpful resources.
The presentation is followed by a dyslexia simulation, which is a hands-on experience designed to increase awareness of the difficulties and frustrations people with dyslexia encounter daily.
Families are encouraged to attend.
This is a hybrid event with the option to participate in person or on Zoom. Online participants will receive the Zoom link in their confirmation email.
