Agent of Happiness
Bhutan measures happiness via the Gross National Happiness (GNH) index. Amber, a happiness agent working for the government, surveys people across the country, asking questions to ascertain their happiness levels. Documentarians Arun Bhattarai and Dorottya Zurbó follow Amber not only through his work and the diverse people he interviews, but also through his personal life. The result is a touching and thought-provoking exploration of happiness and sadness, dreams and reality, prosperity and hardship, companionship and loneliness, as well as a subtle scrutiny of the concept of GNH.
Directed by Arun Bhattarai and Dorottya Zurbó.
