Queen of Glory
Writer-director-actor Nana Mensah does triple duty in this film. The story centers on Sarah Obeng (Mensah), a Ghanaian American PhD student in molecular neuro-oncology at Columbia University. She is about to relocate to Ohio with her married boyfriend when news comes that her mother has died unexpectedly. Sarah returns to the Bronx to settle her affairs, which include inheriting a Christian bookstore called King of Glory, and she finds herself navigating the expectations of Ghanaian relatives and the community while figuring out what she wants and needs.
Starring Nana Mensah, Meeko Gattuso, Oberon K.A. Adjepong, Adam Leon, Russell G. Jones, and Anya Migdal. Directed by Nana Mensah.
