Program Description

Event Details

Learn how to understand, recognize, and respond to a friend, fellow classmate, or sibling who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. Get the tools you need to recognize mental health challenges, listen, and lead tough conversations, as well as how and when to refer someone to professional help.

The workshop will be led by Heather Kendall from NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Cook County North Suburban. Email the teen team if you have any questions.

Participants will earn service hours and a certificate of completion that will stand out on college applications and job resumes. Fill out this contact form to be added to our list of interested teen volunteers and be one of the first to know about volunteer opportunities.

For age 15-18. Registration is required. Snacks will be provided.
