Event Details
In honor of Sarah Lazarus, Eleanor Reissa brings us her voice, humor, and love of Yiddish for an afternoon of timeless and fresh musical treasures. A natural storyteller, she invites us on a journey where past, present, and future come together in song. She will be joined by pianist Rob Schwimmer.
Sarah Rose Lazarus was a beloved Yiddish teacher and performer whose passion for music inspired thousands of students and enriched synagogue choirs across Chicago. She especially cherished classical Yiddish song, sharing its beauty with generations. This memorial concert honors her legacy and keeps her love for Yiddish language and music alive.
Free tickets will be given to those present starting at 2:30 pm.
This event is in collaboration with Chicago YIVO Society, a local affiliate of the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.
