Event Details
In this series showcasing talented young performers of classical music, today's concert features violinist Lauren Kim and pianist Claire Wang.
Free tickets are given to those present starting at 2:30 pm.
Lauren Kim, Violin
- Hoffman Estates High School, Grade 12
- Studies violin with Almita Vamos, has also played piano and flute
- Scholarship student of the Music Institute of Chicago Academy; first solo with orchestra at age 12 with Oistrakh Symphony, has performed solos with Schaumburg Youth Symphony Orchestra and Youth Symphony of DuPage
- Member of Quartet Meraviglia, which was awarded a silver medal in the 2024 Saint Paul String Quartet Competition and first place in the Chicago National Chamber Music Competition
Claire Wang, Piano
- Stevenson High School, Grade 11
- Studies piano with Brenda Huang
- Received second place in level D of the 2025 Roberta Savler Piano Competition and second place in the senior division of the 2025 North Shore Music Teachers Association Piano Competition
- Swims competitively on both club and high school teams
