Drop-in event for kids PreK-grade 5. Kids younger than eight must be accompanied by an adult. Limited to 15 kids at a time. 

Families can drop in as Chicago-based nonprofit organization Akin for Action leads activities building toys for animals that are living in the animal shelter. Children younger than eight must be accompanied by an adult. 

Unleash your creativity and show off your brick building skills by completing a Lego challenge. Finish the challenge yourself or with a friend and then stick around for some free-building time. 

Kids PreK through grade 5 and caregivers who are part of an LGBTQ+ family are invited to join our Rainbow Family Club. We'll hang out, chat, have snacks, and do activities. LGBTQ+ youth are also welcome to bring friends who are allies.

Honor Black History Month with books and STEAM projects related to Black inventors and scientists. 

Celebrate the beauty and diversity of Black hair.

Join Ms. Mandy and her puppet friends (including Tiny and Schmoranges) to pretend and imagine together. Kids in preK-grade 2 are invited to bring their own puppets, dolls, and toys to this interactive event.

Enjoy a picture book read aloud followed by a fun STEAM project related to the book.

Extend the celebration of Holi with vibrant traditions and move to fun beats in this interactive storytime workshop led by Ajanta Chakraborty of Bollywood & Culture Groove.
