Moana

As part of our special Moana Monday, families can try some movie-inspired crafts between our 3 pm showing of Moana and our 6 pm showing of Moana 2.

Comics Crew is for kids who enjoy reading graphic novels or creating their own comics. Explore some graphic novels in our collection for inspiration, and then get to work creating your own! Kids in grade 3-5 attend independently.

Let's make bracelets. Beads? We got 'em. Thread? We got it. Jelly Beans? Yes, please. 

All materials will be provided, just bring your patience and creativity. 

Share your love of Pokémon through card trading, games, and crafts. Bring your cards and any art or Pokémon memorabilia to share. We'll do different activities each month. 

Learn the basics of 3D modeling using Tinkercad. Kids in grade 3-5 attend on their own.

Enjoy a "spook-tacular" evening of crafting fun for the whole family. We’ll make cute and spooky decorations together. Bring your creativity and get ready for a "boo-tiful" time! 

Help support the library by building a dinosaur themed I-Spy for the Kids Room. 

Kids grade 3-5 attend on their own. Pizza will be served. Limited to 15 registered participants. 

Come decorate colorful clay calaveras or "skulls." Also known as sugar skulls, these colorful iconic decorations are often a part of Day of the Dead celebrations.

Wear your favorite cat shirt and get ready for some feline fun! In this purr-fect club for cat lovers, participants will learn about different aspects of cat care and behavior. Kids in grade 3-5 attend independently.

Bring new creations to life! Get ready to take apart old plushies and sew or glue together a custom creature of your very own. Supplies will be provided.

Drop-in event for kids PreK-grade 5. Kids younger than eight must be accompanied by an adult. Limited to 15 kids at a time. 

Kids PreK-grade 5 and caregivers who are part of an LGBTQ+ family are invited to join our new Rainbow Family Club. We'll hang out, chat, have snacks, and do activities. LGBTQ+ kids are also welcome to bring friends who are allies. 

Learn about Indonesia's culture, traditions, foods, and fun in this session designed for kids who are homeschooled.

Drop-in event for kids age 5-10. Children younger than eight must have an adult in the library during the event.

Pick up a lantern, find a cozy spot, and settle in with a soothing magical-world themed video projected onto a wall. Lights will be dimmed, and a chapter will be read aloud from a fantasy novel.

Celebrate Illinois Family Reading Night with an extravaganza of books and activities! 

Families can join in throughout the event as local authors read their books. We'll also have crafts and activities. Drop-in event.
